TOV4

In the morning when the first ray of sunlight hit Greycastle, the fire in Colin's bedroom had been extinguished.

Fortunately, most of the building materials of Greycastle are non-flammable rocks, otherwise, the fire will not only burn this room.

In a messy room, Yimen, the housekeeper, stood staring at the scorched corpse in front of him in a daze.

Boom boom boom...

Amidst the heavy footsteps, a tall figure appeared in the room.

"Yimen, I have sealed off the castle, and at the same time, all entrances and exits in Greycastle Town have also been guarded, huh, I don't believe I can let the murderer run away!"

The visitor is three meters tall and strong like a black bear.

His whole body is wrapped in heavy armor, but he does not wear a helmet, revealing a big round bald head, with a full face, a vicious expression, and a huge battle axe with mottled blood in his hands, enough to scare all the children who see him.

"Thanks for your hard work, knight Rego." Yimen turned his head, his eyes still fixed on the scorched corpse, but the focus was a little loose as if he was thinking about something.

Upon seeing this, Rego thought that the old housekeeper was sad for the death of the young master, so he sighed: "Hey, let's arrange the young master's body and bury it when the master comes back."

Yimen didn't respond.

Rego touched his big bald head, thinking that the old butler was blaming himself, he approached Yimen a few steps, and whispered: "Yimen, I didn't see the knight Carter today, I doubt..."

Hearing Carter's name, Yimen's loose eyes condensed in an instant, and then turned to the servants who were still tidying up the house and said: "There is no need to clean up here, you go down."

"Yes."

After the servants left, Yimen looked up at the tall Rego slightly, and asked, "I remember, three years ago, you and Carter competed in the Knight Championship held by the Earl of Uman?"

Rego was a little puzzled. He didn't understand why Yimen suddenly mentioned the previous knight tournament, but he still replied: "Is that three years ago? It seems to be. Hey, I beat him so badly that time!"

Yimen smiled: "Yes, he was shot at the horse by you, broke his arm, and lost two teeth."

"Hehe." Rego was a little embarrassed when he mentioned his glorious record, but at the same time, he was also very confused, "What are you talking about now?"

Yimen didn't answer, but continued to ask: "Do you remember that the two teeth Carter lost were on the left or the right?"

"How would I know this!" Rego was a little anxious, and Yimen's reaction made him very confused and dissatisfied.

Yimen didn't have an attitude of caring about Rego, but showed a mysterious smile and pointed to the scorched corpse on the ground: "If you don't remember clearly, you can go and take a look for yourself now."

Rego frowned and stared at Yimen with big eyes for a long time. Seeing that he didn't seem to be joking, he finally squatted down and stretched out his hand to break the corpse's mouth.

"Crack!"

Yimen watched the rugged Rego break the chin of the corpse completely, and the corners of his mouth suddenly twitched.

Rego was also taken aback, and then hurriedly tried to reattach the fallen chin...

"Okay, don't do it, take a closer look at his teeth." Yimen was speechless at the clumsy Rego.

"Oh, okay...hey! There are really two gaps in the gum on his lower left!" Rego turned his head with glowing eyes and asked eagerly, "Did Carter lose the left tooth?"

Obviously, this reckless man also realized that there was something wrong with the corpse.

Unfortunately, Yimen shook his head: "I don't know which two teeth Carter lost back then."

Rego's brows wrinkled, and as soon as he was about to speak, he heard Yimen slowly say: "However, I know that Master Colin has never lost his teeth."

"That's right!" Rego stood up abruptly and exclaimed excitedly.

But then, he seemed to realize that his voice was too loud, and quickly lowered the volume: "So, this corpse is not Master Colin at all, but the bastard Carter!"

"No." Yimen smiled and shook his head, "Master has been killed by Carter. You must now take someone to catch this evil traitor."

"What?" Rego's eyes widened again. "Are you stupid?"

Yimen sighed and explained patiently: "Think about it, why did the young master set the fire? Why didn't he say goodbye?"

Rego touched his big round bald head and seemed to understand: "You mean, the young master deliberately scorched this corpse, just to make others think he is dead?"

"Yes, it is."

"Why did the young master do this?"

"Maybe I want to see who is behind Carter? What is the purpose? It may also be to hide... In short, since the young master has his own plan, what we should do is to cooperate with him and put this game together. Do it."

"Okay, I see." Rego walked out, sullenly, "I'll go and order that bastard Carter to be arrested."

Yimen watched Rego's tall figure disappear outside the door, and he added silently in his heart: "It may also be that the young master doesn't dare to trust us anymore..."

-----------------------------

"Why would I not trust you?" Colin smiled and said to the old mercenary in front of him, "I mean, I will pay you half of the commission first, and the remaining half after you introduce me to the caravan heading to Fallen Eagle City. I'll give it to you after successful introduction."

"Then what if you refuse to pay the remaining money when I introduce you to the caravan?" The old mercenary is obviously not satisfied with this payment method of paying the deposit first and then the final payment.

"Do you think I am the one who lacks that little money?" Colin took out a gold coin and threw it up and down in his hand.

The old mercenary's eyes straightened instantly, his gaze moving up and down closely following the gold coin.

There is no way, for the bottom of society like him, copper coins are the daily currency, and silver coins are rare. As for gold coins, they are something that only nobles and big merchants have.

"Then I want thirty copper coins!" The old mercenary realized that there was a fat sheep in front of him, and immediately began to increase the price.

"Twenty. Or I'll find someone else."

"Deal!" The old mercenary happily caught the ten copper coins thrown by Colin and began to lead the way.

After a while, the two came to the western part of Greycastle Town and walked into an old tavern.

"The Bearded Tavern."

After entering the door, Colin found that the name of this tavern was indeed worthy of its name. At first glance almost all the people drinking here have beards.

The old mercenary was obviously very familiar with this place, and while greeting everyone, he led Colin inside.

The two came to a long table in the corner of the tavern. The old mercenary bowed his waist and muttered for a moment in the ear of a bearded man sitting in the main seat.

The bearded man glanced at Colin in the direction of the old mercenary's fingers, then waved to sign for Colin to come over.

"This is the commander of the Firefox Mercenary Corps - Lord Saru. Lord Saru is a Tier 2 fighter, and he happens to be heading to Fallen Eagle City. You must be sure to follow his team!" The old mercenary introduced a big bearded man to Colin first.

Then he turned to the bearded man again, his attitude was obviously more attentive: "Master Saru, this is my nephew, don't think he is not strong, but his martial skills are quite good..."

"Is he your nephew?" Saru sneered and interrupted the old mercenary.

"Yes...Yes!" The old mercenary suffocated slightly, and a trace of panic flashed in his eyes.

Then he hurriedly explained: "Don't look at him who does not look like me. The main reason is that this kid's appearance follows my brother-in-law, and after all these years, I've been running around outside. This old face is long gone. You know, when I was young, I was also handsome, with extraordinary temperament..."

Saru sneered and interrupted the old mercenary again: "Your nephew is a knight?"

Hearing the word knight, the old mercenary seemed to be suddenly pinched, and the bragging words immediately choked in his throat.

Colin's pupils shrank instantly.

Relieved that his butler seems to be on his side at least. And relatively smart.
